We have noticed that many players join with low netspeed configured. In year 2013, we do believe that all players already have cable, DSL or even faster connections. Playing with netspeed lower than 20000 is pointless and only reduces your gaming performance and experience.
Species mod is based on CBP mod, which among other features and fixes, has movement fix that makes the games network movement same as in other Unreal engine based games (smooth). This causes slightly higher bandwidth usage thus netspeed of 20000 is needed even more.
Because many players don't know how to configure netspeed or recently played on other servers that set their netspeed to low value, we have added new feature to the mod. When joining server, this feature checks if netspeed is lower than 20000 and asks player if he would like to optimize netspeed. If clicked YES, netspeed is changed to 20000 for optimal gaming performance.
